Marla and DeShawn's E Session
Marla and DeShawn are gearing up to their October wedding and I recently did their engagement session down at Oakledge Park (otherwise known as my "outdoor studio").
The couple showed up in outfits that were unique unto themselves-- Marla looking gorgeous in her summer party dress and DeShawn so damn cute in his cap, Flannel shirt and jeans. Yet, as different as their outfits were, they looked perfect together!
Of course, sweet Nica also came along and though my attention was mostly on the loving couple, each time I turned around, there was Nica, ready for her "closeup"...a model in the making, for sure.
We braved the pre storm winds as we walked along the water, there were lots of jokes and silliness, and Marla was her usual theatrical self. DeShawn was a great sport about the whole thing, though I'm sure that there are many places he'd have rather been at the end of a long day...
Still, by the way DeShawn and Marla looked at each other, it was obvious to everyone in the park just how much love they feel for each other.
And Nica, who is beyond excited about the wedding, is pushing the idea of doing cartwheels down the aisle! Yes, she is her mother's daughter!
Here's a video slideshow recapping Marla's and DeShawn's Engagement session, set to an Alison Krause tune that seemed appropriate for this beautiful family. Nica steals the show, of course, but all three of them make for some truly lovely moments....
Congratulations, Marla and DeShawn. I love you and I'm so looking forward to photographing the wedding!! xo
