Asher's Bar Mitzvah
Asher became a Bar Mitzvah a few weeks ago and celebrated becoming a Jewish "Man" - According to Jewish law, 13-year-old Asher earned that title on June 2 when he helped lead the service at Ohavi Zedek Synagogue and read his half Torah portion in front of family, friends and congregants.
It is tradition to celebrate the day by attending the Bar Mitzvah service in the morning and then continuing the festivities later on with a reception. Asher's friends and family joined him in the evening at the Courtyard Marriott in Burlington for dinner and dancing.
Asher honored the special people in his life with a ceremonial candle lighting and then he cut his birthday cake. After that, it was time for...
Of course, the photo booth was a huge hit, as was the flowing milk chocolate fountain with all the fixings, provide by Amy at Fountain of Dreams.
DJ Steve "Wish" Shannon kept the the dance floor busy with great tunes...
and he even showed off his breakdancing skills later in the evening! (below)..
There was plenty of time for party games like LIMBO...
...And Asher even made up a dance for his friend to copy (and it will always be known as THE ASHER!)
Here's a fun video slideshow recapping Asher's great day.
