Becky and Kathleen found each other in Vermont but are now living across the lake and planning their October wedding at Harmony Golf Course in Port Kent.
This love connection is a long time in the making, and both women admit that it took many years into their adult lives to finally find their “soul mate.”
Isak Dinesen wrote, “Love, with very young people, is a heartless business. We drink at that age from thirst, or to get drunk; it is only later in life that we occupy ourselves with the individuality of our wine.”
Well, then this couple is like a fine bordeaux and they are savoring each other with every luscious sip!
I had such a good time with Becky and Kathleen at their Engagement session and I cant wait to photograph their wedding. Love will be ever present and my heart is already singing for them!
Here’s a fun recap of Becky and Kathleen‘s E season, set to the sexy Tegan And Sara song, “Closer”:
Congratulations, Becky and Kathleen!! See you in October!
There’s nothing more fun than photographing an Engagement session with a couple’s dog! So, when Jen and Kelly asked to bring along their sweet adopted baby boy, I was all excited!
And what a beautiful family!!
It was a day of HUGE smiles, lots of laughter and a great hat!
And there is no more beautiful a spot for a romantic shoot than Shelburne Farms!
Jen and Kelly are getting married in September at Headwaters/Food Medicine Farm and I’m looking forward to being at a new venue for me.
It was lovely evening and it was so nice to spend time with this amazingly sweet couple and get to know them a little better. Not to mention, they cant take a bad picture!
I hope you enjoy this slideshow, set to Brandi Carlile‘s gorgeous cover of the Beach Boy’s “God Only Knows”.
(PS It’s in flash so unavailable to watch on an iPhone. Sorry)
Congratulations, Jen and Kelly. You are both beautiful-inside and out- and I’m so looking forward to photographing your wedding!!
My dear friends, Rose and Jodi are gearing up for their wedding next month and we finally got some time last week to do a short and sweet Engagement session at Oakledge Park.
This was an appropriate place to do the session, as it was where I first took a picture of Rose about 8 years ago. Back then, I told her she needed a great portrait on her Facebook page so her potential Future Wife could find her and fall in love. Yup, It was a great picture and I’m sure Jodi fell hard when she saw it (haha)!
Eight years later, I was thrilled to be photographing them together and to be looking toward their wedding in September at Mary’s Inn at Baldwin Creek
It is so fun to be around them and to watch how they interact…
Everything about their relationship feels easy, like a warm breeze on a Sunday afternoon.
Jodi and Rose prove that LOVE is worth the wait.
CONGRATULATIONS, My friends!! Now on to the wedding!!!!!!!
Elise and Brad are gearing up for their wedding in September and a few weeks ago, we met at the picturesque Shelburne Farms for their Engagement portrait session.
Shelburne Farms is a special place for Elise, where she worked for a summer and where she has visited time and again since she was a little girl.
I’ve watched Elise grow from a child into a beautiful woman… And I really cant believe that it’s been six years since I did her high school senior portraits! That’s crazy!
It was so great meeting Brad and getting to know him. And The first thing I noticed about this “groom-to-be” is his beautiful smiling eyes and how much he adores his finance. I loved seeing this couple together and documenting their loving relationship with some romantic images!
So, without further ado, I introduce… the future “Mr. and Mrs.” !!! The show is in FLASH, so drop your iPhone and go view this on a laptop. It’s worth it!
Congratulations, Elise and Brad! I can’t wait to photograph your wedding!
Ryan and Bethany came up from South Carolina to Vermont for a ski weekend-and while they didn’t get to do much skiing, Ryan DID manage to squeeze in a very romantic marriage proposal!
After Bethany said YES and I came out from hiding, I congratulated the happy couple and we started a fun Engagement session and a TASTY tour of Burlington!
Of course, we started with some romantic portraits at Waterfront Park.
To warm up a bit, We made a short stop back at Ryan and Bethany‘s hotel, the Courtyard Burlington Harbor Marriott, for a post-proposal beer!
Then it was on to the Church Street Marketplace
We embraced the misty rain and the couple did their best impression of a “Gene Kelly umbrella dance.”
I love to take coffee-loving couples to Uncommon Grounds for a LOVERS LATTE (my name, not theirs!)
We ended our day at the Lake Champlain Chocolate Factory for some delicious sweets…
Here’s a SUPER FUN recap of Ryan and Bethany’s romantic Burlington, Vt Proposal and Engagement Session, and because the slideshow is made in flash (with great music by Josh Ritter and Meghan Trainor) you need to view it on a laptop, not your iPad or iPhone. Sorry!)
Congratulations, Ryan and Bethany and take care of one another. As Robert Browning wrote almost two centuries ago,
“Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be…”

Yup, Kayla proposed and Jess said yes!!!
The big event took place at about 8:30 last Monday morning, on what seemed to Jess to be the start of a fun 3-day ski vacation. Little did she know what was burning a hole in Kayla’s pocket!
And check out the bling! (along with the finger Jess burnt while cooking over the weekend. Oops! Bad timing!)
The two pharmacists drove about five hours from Maine, arriving Sunday night, ready to ski the next day at Bolton Resort.
Which they did…
But then they also got in a fun Engagement portrait session with me that afternoon back in Burlington..
Here’s a nice slideshow recapping Kayla and Jess‘s big Proposal Day, set to the gorgeous Brandi Carlile song, The Story(Slideshow in FLASH so it wont show on your iPhone. Sorry!)
Congratulations, Jess and kayla!
Rick and Chris are gearing up for their wedding next month so I recently spent some time with them doing their long awaited engagement portrait session.
I first blogged about this super sweet couple in March 2014, when Rick proposed to Chris on stage at the Flynn Theater, and I was there to photograph the event. It was all very theatrical and romantic and I knew then the wedding would be nothing short of magical. Next month, on September 26, I will be ready with cameras in hand to document the celebration!
Here’s a sweet little slideshow recapping Chris and Rick’s E session. The show is in FLASH so you’ll need to watch it on a laptop (not an iPad or iPhone)…

Soulmates are people who bring out the best in each other. They are not perfect but are perfect for each other.
That’s Bob and Jean.
Bob and Jean have found love a second time around. And I mean L-O-V-E, big time LOVE.
This is not a love that came easy.
This is a love that came after a lot of hardship and sadness,
after battling health and suffering loss,
after working through many difficult years.
Bob and Jean
And the magic began.
Jean is the Chair of the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences at the University of Vermont (and the author of The EatingWell Diet: Introducing the VTrim Weight-Loss Program.)
Bob is an Army and Air Guard veteran and an information technologies specialist.
What do they have in common? Well, LOVE, for one thing!
Oh, and they both adore coffee! See the his and hers machines below in their kitchen?
And their first date? It was at Muddy Waters on Main Street.
Here’s a great little slideshow highlighting my afternoon with Bob and Jean, and when you watch it, you can actually see their love story “brew” like a good cup of French Roast! (The slideshow is in FLASH, so get off your iPhone and quickly go find a laptop to view the show!)

Congratulations, Bob and Jean. I cant wait for the wedding!
Bridget and Karen are getting married in September! SO, I spent time with them recently to do an Engagement portrait session and get to know them a little better.
They are definitely in the running for the CUTEST COUPLE OF THE YEAR. And, honestly, I’m not sure who has the better smile, because they are both killer!
And, as if they could be any cuter, along comes their dog, “Lucky”, a rescue with a checkered past and a neurological disorder that makes it difficult for him to hold his head up and walk straight. But, really, who needs a straight dog, anyway!?
Lucky is adorable, and fits in perfectly with this beautiful and loving couple! And I felt LUCKY just to spend the afternoon with them all!
There is no doubt that Karen and Bridget‘s wedding will be full of love and I can’t wait to document their day for them.
Here’s a fun slideshow recapping Karen and Bridget‘s Engagement session, guest starring “Lucky The Dog”. The music track starts with one of my faves by Sara Bareilles (I choose You) and, in celebration of the recent SCOTUS ruling in favor of Marriage Equality, it ends with “Chapel of Love” by The Dixie Cups.
(Sorry, but it’s in FLASH so you need to view it on a laptop, not your IPHONE or IPAD)

SEE YOU AT THE WEDDING!
