Last month I photographed the emotional and moving wedding of Serrill and Lacretia at the Friends Meeting House in Starksboro. It is only the second Quaker wedding I have ever attended and all I remember from the first one was a lot of silence.
So, I was surprised by the amount of sharing at this ceremony and the depth of the love and warmth in the room as 27 friends and family members gathered to celebrate with Serrill and Lacretia on their wedding day. There was singing, poetry, even a friend who performed a dance for the couple. And, yes, there were lots and lots of (happy) tears.
After the ceremony on this rainy Saturday, guests enjoyed cookies and cider, hugged and chatted, took in the beauty of the fall colors and simply celebrated the joys of being with family and family.
